The Doula Directory
The Doula Directory was setup in 2020 by Kicki Hansard, award-winning doula and author, and all the doulas listed here are members of The Doula Association. Our members have completed The BirthBliss Academy doula preparation course and they adhere to our Code of Conduct. To give parents the extra assurance, the doulas who are working in the UK have all completed the basic DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service). It is also recommended to our doulas that they work with a Public Liability insurance in place.
Doula UK
Doula UK was founded in 2001 to promote life-changing support from skilled doulas for families in the childbearing year regardless of circumstance, while advocating for better support for UK families.
The BirthBliss Academy
The BirthBliss Academy is an educational organisation that offer courses for birth workers and parents. As an approved Doula UK course provider, we offers a preparation to work as a doula course for those interested in working as a doula, as well as CPD workshops for doulas across the UK and overseas.

The Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT) regulates Antenatal Educators, Breastfeeding Counsellors and Doulas in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Islands.
